PTO Programs 

Hospitality- we shower the staff at wallace and jela with special treats throughout the year, dinners on conference nights, birthday treats and special events like group yoga or otherwise on occasion. 

Teacher Grants- each year we fund a number of grant requests! These requests can be submitted for individual teachers for classroom use, entire grade levels and/or school wide requests. Our current budget is $7,500 for this endeavor. 

5th Grade Celebration/Memory books- every year pto hosts a special event for our outgoing 5th grade class. we also design a memory book keepsake for each student to take home, free of charge to them. 

Special events - throughout the school year, pto hosts special events for students with a free or subsidized cost to families. we also work to fund field trip opportunities that fall outside of the school budget on occasion. when authors come to town, pto helps get them to visit wallace/jela with funds to cover costs. our most recent author visit was eric litwin! covid has limited hosting of many of our typical events, but we are excited to get more back to normal going forward. 

Capital projects- we do occasional larger projects around the building. we funded playground pieces at our old building, a gaga ball pit for the playground at the current building, we purchased picnic tables for outdoor seating, purchased library shelving at a cost of over $28,000, purchased the metal signage to designate the jela entrance, supplied covid supplies to staff and students, etc...   

Book fair and original works programs also use a small amount of budgeted funds to raise money for our school!

100% of those program proceeds go directly back to funding classroom and building libraries, and the art program.
